چکیده

Knowledge of both normal and abnormal anatomy of the root canal system can directly affect the outcome of the endodontic therapy. This paper describes the nonsurgical endodontic management of the rare anatomical configuration middle mesial canal in previously treated mandibular first molar. After coronal access, the gutta-percha was eliminated. In precise examination of groove between two mesial canals, the middle mesial orifice was revealed. All root canals prepared chemo mechanically and obturated. After 6 months follow up, the tooth was asymptomatic and functional and apical lesion was healed.

Mandibular First Molar with Five Canals: A Report of Three Cases

The main objective of endodontic therapy is the thorough mechanical and chemical cleansing of the entire root canal system and its complete obturation with an inert filling material. Failure to find and fill a canal contributes toward the failure of endodontic therapy .The root canal anatomy of mandibular first molars is complex. Studies of the morphologic structure of root canal systems hav...

Independent and Confluent Middle Mesial Root Canals in Mandibular First Molars: A Report of Four Cases

Mandibular molars demonstrate considerable variations with respect to number of roots and root canals. The possibility of additional root canals should be considered even in teeth with a low frequency of abnormal root canal anatomy. This paper discusses the endodontic management of the rare anatomical complexity middle mesial canals in mandibular first molar and also serves to remind the clinic...

Clinical management of multiple mesial and distal canals in mandibular first molars - A case report

Thorough cleaning and shaping and followed by three-dimensional obturation is secret to successful clinical endodontics. Therefore, it is imperative that aberrant anatomy should be identified before and during root canal treatment. Multiple case reports of aberrant canals morphology in the mesial root of mandibular first molar have been documented. However, fewer studies have discussed the occu...

Identification and Endodontic Management of Confluent Middle Mesial Canal in Mandibular First Molar: A Case Report

Knowledge and understanding of the root canal anatomy is fundamental in achieving the successful endodontic treatment outcome. Occurrence of variations in root canal anatomy is common and frequency may vary according to population. This paper discusses a clinical report of root canal therapy in a permanent mandibular first molar and emphasizes the importance of magnification for the assessment,...

Identification of independent middle mesial canal in mandibular first molar using cone-beam computed tomography imaging.

INTRODUCTION The root canal treatment of a mandibular molar with aberrant canal configuration can be diagnostically and technically challenging. METHODS This case report presents the clinical management of a mandibular first molar with three separate mesial canals including middle mesial canal, which was confirmed by cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) images. RESULTS Posttreatment images ...
